Fortress

Fortress, like other puzzlers, are very addictive. It can be played for hours in one sitting. Unlike other puzzlers, Fortress has two parts. The first part players will be building their fortress from the ground up using blocks. The second part players have to use their weapons to destroy the enemey fortress and also build defenses to protect theirs from coming down. Weapons can be placed like blocks and special ones can be built by combining blocks in a certain way. There are three modes of play including Battle, Blitz and Tournament. All three modes are pretty similar, too bad there isn't a story mode of some sort. It would be cool if there was a mode where your fortress would go through the ages or if there was a battle with other characters. The game doesn't save scores or have a high score table either. There isn't much replay value for players who like to unlock extras in their games, but for those who love multiplayer there is. Fortress supports 2 player linkup and unfortunely it is multi-cart only. If you're looking for a puzzle game and just want to play it for fun, then give Fortress a try.
