River City Ransom is a classic beat em up that started on the NES and is being remade on the GameBoy Advance as River City Ransom EX. Created by the same people that made Double Dragon Advance, River City Ransom is going to get the same special treatment. Cyndi has been kidnapped by Slick and now its up to Alex and Ryan to fight off the gangs infesting River City. Players can go in it alone or with a friend and if there isn't a friend with a copy of River City Ransom EX, then a computer controlled partner can fight alongside. All the basic beat em up elemets are here, complete with weapons and bosses, but River City Ransom adds some RPG elements which deepens the gameplay of this beat em up. Characters don't gain experience points, but earn stat points by eating at restaurants and reading books in malls found through out River City. Bosses can actually join and fight with your gang, the world is open ended, players can backtrack and also some parts of the storyline will involve visiting previous locations. River City Ransom not only keeps track of your stat points, but also knows how you fight. Players can actually exchange character data to battle a virtual version of each other. River City Ransom EX is loaded with interesting features, don't miss it.
