Gekido may at first look like a beat em up similar to Final Fight. Unlike Final Fight, not everyone you encounter is a enemy. There are characters that will provide helpful items and advice. While others will rise from the ground to battle. Gekido takes elements from the rpg genre and apply them to a beat em up. You walk around freely and then in some places the dead will rise for a battle. They can leave behind chicken and hamburgers for health, which all beat em up characters love. Another rpg element Gekido takes is the adventure part. In Gekido, players will explore dungeons for valuable items such as keys that will open up new areas. Unlike Final Fight, players can backtrack freely to old areas to find more secrets. This beat em up also has quite a few special attacks, from fire punches to charge kicks. Every beat em up has a special move where if you perform it, it will drain your health and get all the enemies off you. But in Gekido there is a separate bar for that purpose. After performing the special move, the bar resets and slowly refills. You can can still do the move after that, but it will cost you health. Gekido adds its own spice to the beat em up genre, but will players give Gekido a try?
