Excitebike was a revolutionary title for the original Nintendo. Excitebike being one of the first motocross games ever made which had started features that many modern motocross games today have. In Excitebike you must perform jumps and use turbo to get the best time. But it is much more then that. While riding, you can pop a wheelie and raise or lower your bike with left and right on the control pad. It is best to line up your wheels with the ramp to maximize your jumping distance. There isn't a certain amount of turbo boosts you can perform and that doesn't mean that turbos are unlimited. Using turbos will raise the temperature bar found on the bottom of the screen, not using will lower the temperature. Overheating will cause the bike to stall. The most revolutionary feature of Excitebike is the ability to build your own tracks, which was very deep. Ramps can be adjusted and placed, speed streaks and hay can be put anywhere. Even the lap marker can be moved to shorten or stretch the track. Excitebike came out at a time when videogames needed innovation to survive and is now available as e-Reader cards and part of the Classic NES Series for the GameBoy Advance.
